The Bombay and Asian Self Breed Club is the specialist breed club dedicated to the advancement and welfare of the GCCF (UK) Bombay and related self colour cats of Burmese type. The distinguishing features are a sleek short coat, sound to the roots with beautiful golden eyes. The Bombay (GCCF breed number 72) is a solid jet black cat, with magical golden eyes, is the nearest cat genetically possible to a "Black Burmese", comes under the Foreign section and is one of the five breeds within the Asian Group. The Bombay also comes in various other colours, known as Asian Selfs (the Torties are classed as "Selfs" for our purposes).
