The Bombay and Asian Self Breed Club was started in August 1995 by a group of breeders and owners of Bombay and Asian Selfs (including the Torties). The club was affiliated to The GCCF and attained championship status in October 1999.
The main objective of the club is to serve the interests and promote the welfare of all Bombay and Asian Self Cats, and in doing so, promote correct breeding practices and general well being. Additionally, in conjunction with the Asian Group Breed Advisory Committee, the club endeavours to serve its members by disseminating information on development, as well as informing and educating the general public.
The Officers and Committee of the club are striving to enhance communication between all breeders and in particular, wish to offer help and advice to newcomers, whether they be exhibiting, breeding or owning these lovely cats as pets.
A register has been compiled of available kittens in order to assist when enquiries are made. Help is always available for new owners and first timebreeders, and for novice breeders, assessment of litters by GCCF judges can be arranged.
The Bombay and Asian Self Breed Club actively encourages attendance at cat shows of the Bombay and self colours (including Torties). The reporting of results is very important, as the club keeps a record of these show wins and trophies are awarded at the annual AGM to owners & breeders whose cats have done well on the show scene.
Club newsletters are produced and sent to all members. This will include Club news, show news and veterinary discussions to name just a few and all members are encouraged to participate. You are viewing the Bombay and Asian Self Breed Club internet web site (www.bombaybreedclub.org).
